The Liberal Party (LP) has been accused of cheating in the 2016 elections and the alleged poll fraud in Maguindanao was caught on video.
A witness told News5 that the official ballots were pre-shaded and only a few people were feeding them to the Vote Counting Machine (VCM).
Normina Taha spoke about the alleged election cheating in Datu Saudi-Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
She said:
[When I entered there, only a few ballots were left because all of it were nearly used up. I also saw that all the ballots...you might say (the circle beside the names of) their candidates were the ones being shaded. They focused on LP (bets). They focused mainly on vice (presidential candidate Leni) Robredo, and their candidates for mayor and vice mayor.]
Bassir Utto, a vice mayoralty candidate in that municipality, claimed that there was a connivance between the Commission on Elections (Comelec), authorities, and a leader of a private armed group identified as Waheed Tonloc. He said the woman shading the ballots is Tonloc's daughter and because there were armed men beside her, no one in the polling precinct was able to resist.
