WATCH: Bus holdup in Makati caught on video

Be vigilant while riding a bus. This video captured a robbery-holdup involving six suspects which took place Sunday night in Makati City.

According to one of the passengers, call center agent Reggie Maxwell Macatangay, the incident happened along Chino Roces Avenue (formerly known as Pasong Tamo) on January 10. Six men wearing hoodie t-shirts and with empty bags reportedly entered the RRCG bus at around 11:54 p.m.

Macatangay said he already had a gut feeling that something bad was going to happen after he noticed that the suspects were staring at their belongings. He was also wondering why two men remained standing when there was plenty of available seats. He quickly secured his cellphone inside his boxer shorts.

After a brief moment, the suspects declared a holdup as they take out their ice picks. A female passenger screamed after one of the robbers pointed his weapon on her while asking for her cellphone, Macatangay narrated. Fortunately, two male passengers resisted and took action, which started a ruckus inside the bus. One of them suffered bruises.

Luckily, the Makati patrol noticed the commotion thanks to the absence of curtains in the bus. The suspects attempted to flee but five of them were caught by the roving cops.

Still shocked, Macatangay said they found out that one of the passengers, who pretended to be sleeping, connived with the robbers. He said the conspirator was the one wearing a jacket with a green patch and shown in the video getting off the bus. The suspect was beaten by some of the passengers before he was able to get off.

Macatangay advised viewers to remember the man's face and not to ride a bus with curtains especially at night. He also encouraged Facebook users to share his story to raise awareness among commuters.
