Bagyong Onyok has weakened from being a Tropical Depression into a Low Pressure Area (LPA), according to a PAGASA weather update as of Saturday, December 19, 2015.
As of 4 a.m. today, the LPA was spotted in the vicinity of Makilala, North Cotabato.
In their latest bulletin, state forecasters said moderate to occasionally heavy rains are affecting portions of Surigao Del Norte, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Sur, and Agusan Del Norte.
PAGASA said light to moderate rains are affecting portions of Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley, Davao Del Norte, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Davao Del Sur, and North Cotabato which may persist for 2 to 3 hours.
Residents in affected areas have been advised to be alert and to take precautionary measures on the possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
