'Dancing Lolo of Baguio' dances Gangnam Style in arcade

Fermin V. Castro, the "Dancing Lolo of Baguio," is a living proof of the Filipino phrase "kalabaw lang ang tumatanda" (only carabaos get old).

He was featured on GMA-7's multi-awarded news magazine television show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) on Sunday, April 12, after a video posted on Facebook by netizen Jhen Español Catampatan-Minguez went viral.

In it, the 73-year-old senior citizen was spotted performing dance moves for PSY's phenomenal song "Gangnam Style" in front of a dancing machine at the Quantum arcade in SM Baguio.

According to KMJS, Lolo Fermin (a.k.a. "The Ferminator") does unlimited internet surfing as his hobby; singing, impersonation and dancing as talents; and his special skills include being a "master" of the Just Dance arcade machine.

The dancing grandpa, who grew up in Bulacan, said it was already his passion to dance and entertain others when he was still young. It was his dream to become a famous performer, but lost interest in pushing through with it because his girlfriend back in high school did not appreciate what he was doing.

Lolo Fermin took Chemical Engineering in college and eventually got a job in the United States, where he established a family. He became a naturalized US citizen for over 40 years. Within that period, he had set aside his dream to become a performer.

The "Dancing Lolo of Baguio" said he did not expect that he can fulfilled that dream now.
