Angry customer berates mall worker in viral video

A video showing a customer, who claims he was from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, berating a mall worker has gone viral online.

As of lunchtime today, the 1-minute and 57-second clip already garnered over 5,400 views since it was posted by the Facebook page KaTropa FM on Tuesday, April 21.

According to the page administator, the incident took place at SM last Sunday, April 19. The identities of the persons involved as well as the SM branch where it happened were not disclosed.

Based on the video, it appears that the customer got provoked when the mall worker "stepped out of his booth" and yelled "you don't have the right to shout at me!"

It can be heard during their heated argument that the customer said the worker humiliated him, a client whom the money that is used to pay for his salary comes from.

"First time in my entire... I'm so old and I've been here for so long sa buhay na 'to [in this life]... first time nangyari sa 'kin na someone, instead of pacifying... kinakalma ang client, ikaw pa ang nakikipagsabayan [you matched my anger].

The mall worker argued that he tried to pacify the customer and was only double-checking everything, but the client allegedly called him "incompetent" in his job infront of other customers.

When the customer stood up and pointed a finger at the mall worker, the latter said in Filipino that the customer doesn't have the "license" to be rude at him.

"Hindi ako pinag-aral ng nanay ko para bastusin ng isang tulad mo [I was not sent to school by my mother just to be humiliated by someone like you]," he said.

After which the customer apparently flared up and asked, "Saan ka nag-aral? UP Diliman ako [Where did you study? I'm from UP Diliman]!
