Inspiring story of Atty. Lawyer goes viral [+video]

A video featuring Attorney Christian Lawyer, one of the examinees who passed the 2014 Philippine Bar Exams, has gone viral on social media.

According to a GMA NEWS report, Atty. Laywer studied law for 7 years while working full-time as a call center agent. It is said that he was destined to become a lawyer because of his unique surname.

In an interview, Laywer said passing the bar was the best gift he got on his birthday. Results came out Thursday, March 26, a day after the occasion.

The half Filipino, half Ghanaian was born and raised in the Philippines. The British colonizers in Ghana gave his ancestors their family name because they were working for a British lawyer.

Despite poverty, Laywer persevered to finish college. He was a working student while studying AB Legal Management at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) where he graduated Cum Laude.

Lawyer said he will continue working as a call center agent to pay off debts he acquired while taking up law, adding that he wants to begin as a full-fledged lawyer through commercial law.
