Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo, who is currently featured in the "Ang Mahiwagang Pagbabago" teaser video, is set to endorse ABS-CBN TVplus.
According to a report on the Lopez Link website, the Kapamilya network will launch its Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) brand on February 11 with the Pop Princess and "The Voice of the Philippines" coach as endorser.
"DTT is a technological evolution that uses digital signals for broadcast," the website posted.
With ABS-CBN TVplus, televiewers would be able to "make the exodus from analog TV to digital TV starting this year," it added. "Households can prepare for the big switch by purchasing an ABS-CBN TVplus set-top box which will work with any TV model with RCA input."
DTT head Chinky Alcedo said ABS-CBN TVplus will "change the way Filipinos look at TV," noting that it works both "literally" and "figuratively."
"It's literal in the sense that it will change from analog reception, which is cloudy and snowy, to crystal clear images and sound. At the same time, it’s an innovation that will open up new worlds to viewers because of the content from four additional channels that we are carrying on DTT," she explained.
In addition to channels broadcasting in digital such as ABS-CBN Channel 2, ABS-CBN Sports+Action, GEM TV and NBN (PTV4), viewers will also be able to enjoy CineMo, Yey, DZMM TeleRadyo and Knowledge Channel for free, a separate report on same website stated.
