In 2015, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) will conduct the Career Service Exam Paper-and-Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) on May 3 and October 18.
Application period for the first CS Exam schedule for both Professional and Sub-Professional Levels started last November 17 and will continue until March 12, 2015. The application period for the second schedule will run from May 25, 2015 up to September 3, 2015.

What is a Career Service Examination?
The CSE is a general ability test designed to measure an individual's preparedness to enter government service.
The Professional level test covers vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic, and numerical reasoning.
The Sub-Professional level test covers vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, numerical reasoning, spelling, and clerical operations.
Also included are general information questions on the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (Republic Act No. 6713), peace and human rights issues and concepts, and environment management and protection.
The passing rate for both levels of examination is 80.00.
Passing the CSE entitles one to either a Professional or Sub-Professional career service eligibility which is one of the basic requirements for permanent appointment to career positions in government, except for positions that involve the practice of profession or are covered by special laws.
