November 1, 2014 news updates and forecast on Bagyong Paeng (Tropical Storm Paeng) from state weather bureau PAGASA are posted on this page.
At 4 p.m. today, state forecasters spotted Paeng at 985 kilometers East of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 13 kph.
PAGASA said the Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon.
CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan valley, Cordillera and Ilocos Region will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains, the weather agency reported.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it said.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast to Northwest with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA added.
