Private photos of Jennifer Lawrence, other celebrities leaked on 4Chan

Private photos of Jennifer Lawrence and other Hollywood female celebrities have been leaked by a hacker on the imageboard site 4Chan.

Access to the Hunger Games star's iPhone as well as those of the 101 A-listers was allegedly obtained following a leak on Apple's online storage system iCloud.

The perpertrator reportedly claimed he is in possession of 60 explicit images of the Oscar winner.

In a statement released to US media, the 24-year-old actress' camp confirmed that the photos are real and has called the leak "a flagrant violation of privacy."

Her spokesperson also warned that "authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

Aside from Lawrence, reports said actress Kirsten Dunst, supermodel Kate Upton, reality star Kim Kardashian, singer Ariana Grande, and Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice are included in the list.

Models Kelly Brook, Candice Swanepoel, and Cara Delevingne, as well as singer-actress Rihanna were also among those who were allegedly hacked.

In a Twitter post, Final Destination actress Mary Winstead also confirmed that her private photos have been retrieved and stolen.

The private photos of Jennifer Lawrence and other celebrities first appeared on a 4Chan thread, reports say. Within an hour after the online leak, some users allegedly offered more explicit pictures in exchange for bitcoins.

Apple has yet to comment on the matter.
