For transparency, the list of donations for Australian citizen Ronald Hartigan has been posted by the Filipina samaritan who is helping him.
Rose Eden Battistello, who relayed Hartigan's unfortunate situation through Facebook, is raising funds for the passports and plane tickets for the Aussie father and his four sons so they can go home.
Amid the processing of necessary documents and talks between Eden and the Australian Consulate and concerned Philippine government agencies, the distressed foreigner suffered a heart attack and has been confined at Riverside Medical Hospital in Bacolod City.
Because of what happened, part of the donations will now be used to cover the hospitalization and medical expenses.
While Eden continues to receive overwhelming support from netizens and overseas Filipino workers all over the world for her "mission," some naysayers also accused her of being a "scammer."
To refute allegations that she is a con artist, the pinay samaritan vowed to make the list of donations (sent to her personal bank account and via gofundme) available for public scrutiny.
"Kindly check your name in the list of donation. Those send their money the remmittance please PM me again your Control number. I will post it once I claim it. Please I want people to understand that when I decided to help Mr Hartigan I know already what to do and what to be done. Especially regarding with the donations. I don't like being pressure like am keeping the money for myself. So please if you want everything to be transparent you have to wait when I got the time. Don't pressure me. Thank you," she posted.
As of Wednesday, September 17, Eden said the hospital bill totalled P88,993.87 and she already made a partial payment of P17,171.25.
