The 45-year-old actor-comedian remained in critical condition but was more responsive after undergoing operation for a broken leg on Sunday, spokesman Lewis Kay said according to an Associated Press report via Yahoo! News.

The former "Saturday Night Live" cast member is also suffering from a broken thigh bone, ribs and nose caused by Saturday's crash involving a Wal-Mart truck driven by 35-year-old Kevin Roper of Georgia and Morgan's chauffeured Mercedes limo bus. The vehicular accident took place as the victims were returning home after performing in a standup comedy show in Delaware.

Comedian James McNair was declared dead while their fellow performer Ardie Fuqua Jr., and Morgan's assistant, Jeffrey Millea, were in critical condition, according to Zenaida Mendez, spokeswoman for the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick.

Authorities reportedly said the driver, who apparently failed to slow down and swerved at the last minute to avoid a crash, was charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. An investigation to determine the cause and who will be held liable for the road mishap is underway.

Tracy Morgan would remain hospitalized for weeks, the spokesperson reportedly said and added that the actor-comedian's family is thankful for everyone's support and prayers.
