Various reports say the Office of the Ombudsman granted Tuason's request to testify against those accused in the multi-billion scheme allegedly masterminded by detained businesswoman Janet Napoles.

She reportedly turned over a manager's check representing her admitted earnings from deals using the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).

Tuason expressed her willingness to become state witness in February, but she was not granted full coverage under the Witness Protection Program (WPP) of the Department of Justice pending further evaluation of her testimony.

At a press briefing on Friday, May 2, the Office of the Ombudsman announced that it has granted immunity to Tuason in exchange for her testimony on the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

Assistant Ombudsman Asryman Rafanan said they found the testimony of Ruby Tuason "necessary" to the probe.
