Rufat Dadashov scored for Azerbaijan, which occupies the 93rd spot in the FIFA rankings, at the the 26th minute of the game.

Sports analysts say the Azkals had put up a good showing inspite of being new to a system introduced by coach Thomas Dooley and the absence of goalie Roland Müller, who wasn't able to make the trip.

Phil Younghusband, sources say, was not playing 100% after suffering a minor injury in his ankle.

It was the second football friendly for the Filipino team in five days. Last Saturday, the nationals battled Malaysia to a scoreless draw.

Next month, the Azkals will be flying to Qatar for training. While there, team manager Dan Palami reportedly said they will pick up fitness matches against Qatari club Al-Ahli and Nepal.

In May, the Azkals will be in Bahrain for a week-long training session in preparation for the Challenge Cup to be held in Maldives from May 19 to 30.
