The title fight between Faber and Barao took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, over the weekend, February 1, 2014.

Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight early at 3:42, making it one of the widely discussed fights in the mixed martial arts history in so far as traditional and social media is concerned.

ESPN reports it was Faber's sixth consecutive loss in a title fight and the third time he was stopped in his career so far.

Faber, who calls himself "one of the most durable guys in the world," said the fight result was "very frustrating" for him. He now holds a record of 30 wins and 7 losses.
