Galaxy S5 latest rumors, possible specs leak ahead of launch

Latest rumors and leaked specs of Samsung’s Galaxy S5, one of the most anticipated smartphones this year besides Apple’s iPhone 6, have surfaced.

Citing a note from South Korean brokerage KDB Daewoo Securities, which was picked up on Monday by, Yahoo! News’ TechnoStorm reports that “the Galaxy S5 will be powered by either a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset or an octa-core 64-bit Exynos SoC clocked at 2GHz.”

Its processor, the report said, “will vary by region and device model.”

The upcoming product, set to debut in “either the first or second quarter” of 2014, will sport “a 5.2- or 5.25-inch AMOLED display with WQHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage options, a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera and a massive 3,200 mAh battery.”

A separate report says the South Korean tech giant might unveil the Galaxy S5 in an event known as Unpacked5 2014 Episode 1, which will take place on the first day of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain later this month.
