“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health,” said Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman. “It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

The color authority says the rosy undertones of Radiant Orchid, a “dazzling attention-getter,” “radiate on the skin, producing a healthy glow when worn by both men and women.”

Radiant Orchid “enlivens the skin, making all who wear it feel more healthy and energetic,” Pantone explained of the color in early December last year.

If you want to consider having Radiant Orchid as a color for your interior, Pantone says “Radiant Orchid complements olive and deeper hunter greens, and offers a gorgeous combination when paired with turquoise, teal and even light yellows.”

The vibrant color livens up neutrals including gray, beige and taupe, the institute posted.

On a personal note, I currently use Radiant Orchid, the Color of the Year 2014, as the color of one side of the wall in my restroom. Looks really good with framed photos and paintings.
