Manny Pacquiao to wear rosary in bout against Brandon Rios?

Manny Pacquiao will wear a rosary during his bout against Brandon Rios in Macau on Saturday, November 23, according to a tabloid report.

“Pacquiao, isusuot na uli ang rosaryo sa laban kay Brandon Rios” was one of the headlines of Bulgar last Sunday, November 17.

So far, there’s no word of confirmation from Pacquiao’s camp regarding the news.

It can be recalled that Pacquiao was admonished by his own mother, Dionisia, for “abandoning” the rosary during his match with Juan Manuel Marquez last year.

The fighting Sarangani congressman suffered a shocking, major defeat at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 8 after he got knocked out by the Mexican boxer.

The following day, the Pacquiao matriarch appeared on national television holding a rosary, crying, while asking her son why he left the family’s religion.

At the time, there were reports that the People’s Champ ceased to hear Catholic mass, but was active in bible study activities of a religious group.

Now, because of the tabloid article, boxing fans on social networking sites say they expect Manny Pacquiao to wear a rosary in bout against Rios.
