Tom Guiry, an American actor who played Scotty Smalls in the 1993 film “The Sandlot,” was arrested after headbutting a police officer.
Entertainment website TMZ reports Guiry was stopped by a United Airlines employee at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas because he was allegedly “too drunk to fly.”
A cop was called to approach the intoxicated actor, but he reportedly went berserk and even threatened the officer.
A source told the site Guiry attempted to kick the cop in the face before giving him a headbutt. The policeman suffered minor injuries, the report said.
Guiry was charged with felony assault on a police officer. He was released after posting a $5,000 bail. His camp has yet to comment on the issue.
The 31-year-old Sandlot actor got arrested just a month after a reunion was held to celebrate the movie’s 20th anniversary.
