Bagyong Nando Update, August 2013 - Tropical Storm Nando

Bagyong Nando has intensified into a Tropical Storm as it continues to move in a Northwest direction, state weather bureau PAGASA reported.

At 5pm Monday, August 26, 2013, Tropical Storm Nando was spotted at 270 kilometers East of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It is expected to move Northwest at 15 kph.

PAGASA weather forecasters said the estimated rainfall amount is from 10 to 20 millimeters per hour (heavy to intense) within the 400-km diameter of the tropical storm.

Bagyong Nando is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms Metro Manila and the rest of Southern Luzon, PAGASA said, adding that sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon.
