Nanny Cam Home Invasion Suspect Arrested | Video

The suspect in the so-called nanny cam home invasion in New Jersey was arrested in Manhattan Friday, authorities said. He was identified as 42-year-old Shawn Custis.

Around 10 a.m. on June 21st, Custis forcibly entered a woman’s home at Cypress Street. He assaulted the mother, kicked and punched her, and had thrown her down the basement stairs, reports said.

The burglar fled the scene after searching the family’s belongings, bringing with him jewelries that included the woman’s wedding ring, according to a Fox News report online.

The attack was captured on a hidden camera and a portion of the video footage, which immediately went viral, was shown to the public last week.

Investigators reportedly said the mother suffered bruises and cuts that needed stitches. Fortunately, her two children, a 3-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy, were not hurt.

Custis, the nanny cam home invasion suspect, faces charges of attempted murder, robbery, burglary and child endangerment. Bail was reportedly set at $750,000.
