A July 12 report on The Caller states the roof of the house situated at 4800 block of Holmes, near McArdle Road, was completely blown off from the top and into the ground when firefighters arrived.

Fire chief Andy Cardiel confirmed to media that two persons were rushed to the hospital by ambulance.

Critically injured, they had to be air-lifted to a specialized burn unit in San Antonio Military Medical Center later.

The third victim of the blast, reportedly a female, was treated near the scene as she apparently refused transport to a medical facility.

The scope of the damage was wide, reaching as far as three blocks away from the house that blew off. Cardiel said an investigation to determine the real cause of the Corpus Christi explosion is underway.

As a precautionary measure, residents in the area were advised to temporarily turn gas and electricity supply off.
