Claudine’s well-known legal counsel, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, said his client filed a TPO under Republic Act 9262 or the “Law for the Protection of Women and Children” to protect her against the actor for “physical, verbal, emotional, as well as economic abuse.”

A video aired Monday night on ABS-CBN’s primetime news program “TV Patrol” showed Claudine’s arm with bruises, which her camp denied were self-inflicted.

The couple has been living separately for months now.

According to reports, the lawyer said the actress has reached a “point of no return” from her marriage with the former action star due to “acts that have been continuously persistent since 2005.”

Topacio reportedly refused to give more details for confidentiality in accordance with such law, but said a hearing on the TPO is set on Tuesday, July 30, at the Marikina RTC Branch 192.

Claudine Barretto filed the TPO against Raymart Santiago that would prevent the actor from getting near her, their household and their kids within a radius of 300 meters.

Topacio added that the petition also “asks Raymart to stop communicating with the kids as they try to settle their differences,” reports said.
