Video On Instagram launched | Facebook outs video-sharing app

Video On Instagram has been launched. The video-sharing app is the most interesting feature Instagram has released so far after it was acquired by Facebook last year.

The new feature was introduced by Instagram’s co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom at a press event at the social network’s Menlo Park headquarters.

Video on Instagram, which has 13 filters and simple editing capabilities, allows users to create and share 15-minute videos.

Various tech sites say Video On Instagram is already available for download and has started rolling out to all Instagram users on iOS and Android devices.

Here’s a hands-on review of the new feature:

Tech blog TechCrunch reported that IG currently has 130 million monthly users who have shared 16 billion photos to date. Those numbers are expected to rise dramatically after the Video On Instagram launch.
