Thor Dulay turns 4 chairs in 'The Voice', trends on Twitter | Singer's performance video goes viral

Thor Dulay is the first “The Voice of the Philippines” auditionee to get 4 chair turns from coaches. A video of the singer’s performance during the blind auditions has gone viral online.

The 32-year-old contestant isn’t an industry newbie. Prior to joining the competition, Thor provided backup vocals to comedian-entertainer Vice Ganda on “Gandang Gabi Vice” and had performed with OPM artists including MYMP, Luke Mejares, Nina, and Jay-R.

Reports said Thor, named as Breakthrough Artist in Urban Music Awards, was regularly featured in an FM radio station in Manila and has released three albums so far since 2004. Although he admitted that his first try wasn’t really successful, Thor hopes that “The Voice of the Philippines” will give him another chance to realize his aspirations.

In a taped episode of the show, Thor wowed coaches Apl.de.ap, Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Sarah Geronimo with his rendition of Whitney Houston’s hit “I Have Nothing,” which prompted them to give him red chair turns and a standing ovation.

Thor, who decided to join Team Apl, instantly became a trending topic on Twitter nationwide after his performance.
