The Voice Philippines coach Sarah G cries as auditionee exits, hesitates to eat balut | Video

The Voice Philippines coach Sarah Geronimo wasn’t able to hold her emotions while sharing her sympathy for Romel Colao, a balut vendor who failed to qualify during the blind auditions.

Cameras focused on Sarah G caught her crying while was giving Colao an advice to follow his dreams and told him about how he helped his mother sell charcoal in the streets of Angeles City, Pampanga back then.

The actress-performer got teary-eyed as she took her turn to talk with Colao. She encouraged the 32-year-old aspiring singer from Bukidnon to continue honing his talent and to never lose hope in life.

“Nalulungkot po ako. Sana po wag po kayong titigil na kumanta. Hindi lang po ito ang pagkakataon dahil may espesyal po kayong talento,” Sarah said. “Wag po sana kayong mawalan ng pag-asa.”

The popstar expressed sadness and even asked for Colao’s understanding as she pointed out why he was not able to earn a nod from any of the coaches.

“Nakikita ko po ang lungkot sa mukha ninyo at nalulungkot po ako kasi alam ko po ang hirap ng buhay. Pasensiya na po kasi may iba lang po talaga kaming hinahanap,” she explained.

Colao then offered the coaches some balut which he intentionally brought for them. At first, Sarah hesitated but she eventually ate one after the studio audience chanted her name.

“Para sa’yo to Mang Romel. Mahal kita,” she said before eating the boiled incubated duck egg.

Here’s a video of Colao’s performance on The Voice Philippines and the emotional scenes that came thereafter:
