Suspension of Classes June 18, 2013 | #walangpasok

We’re currently monitoring #walangpasok tweets for announcements about suspension of classes on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 due to floods caused by heavy rains.

So far, the Department of Education posted on Twitter that as of 8 p.m., no announcements were made yet by local chief executives regarding class suspensions in the kindergarten to high school levels.


Meanwhile, state weather bureau PAGASA issued a YELLOW rainfall advisory at 8:20 p.m. on June 17.

It says “moderate to heavy rainfall was observed over CAMANAVA, Manila, Pasig, Pasay, Taguig, Makati, Paranaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Quezon City (Fairview, Novaliches and Commonwealth), Mandaluyong and Pateros for the past hour and most likely to continue for the next 3 hours.”

The agency warned that flooding is possible in low-lying areas.

Earlier, reports said the University of Santo Tomas (UST) colleges of Accountancy, Architecture, Engineering, Fine Arts and Design suspended evening classes on Monday. There’s no update yet whether or not cancellation of classes is extended until Tuesday.
