Hollywood Stabbing Over $1 'Walk Of Fame' Photo Taking Ends Woman's Life

A stabbing incident that stemmed from an argument over a $1 demand by panhandlers as permit to take photos at the Hollywood “Walk of Fame” ended a woman’s life.

Authorities identified the victim as 23-year-old Christine Calderon. She and a male co-worker were taking cellphone pictures at the tourist-packed area Tuesday night when panhandlers, who were carrying signs asking for money, approached her and demanded a dollar.

Investigators said a dispute sparked after Calderon, who apparently took pictures of the transients because she found their placards amusing, refused to pay. The suspects allegedly held the woman up against the wall and stabbed her in the torso.

The victim was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but later died in the hospital due to injuries she suffered from the attack.

One of the suspects, 26-year-old Dustin James Kinnear, was charged with murder. His companions, identified by police as Brian Joseph Widdoes, 34, and Jason Joel Wolstone, 33, will face accessory to the crime and assault charges.
