Game 7 result: Miami Heat beat Indiana Pacers, advance to 2013 NBA Finals | June 3 highlights video

Miami defeated Indiana 99-76 on Monday to become the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference champions. The Heat combined excellent offense and strong defense to beat the Pacers.

Miami trailed by two in the first quarter, but started to pull away in the second after they double-teamed Indiana’s star players, forcing them to commit errors and turnovers.

Miami’s Ray Allen had set the tone in the first half by shooting three 3-pointers.

As the Heat intensified their game on the defensive end, Roy Hibbert of the Pacers went into foul trouble before halftime. He was fouled out two minutes remaining in the third quarter, which sent his team struggling even further.

Miami was ahead by 21 points going to the fourth period. Indiana tried hard to recover but they were unstoppable, dominating every aspect of the game. Only a miracle can turn the tide on Indiana’s favor.

Lebron James and Dwyane Wade gave an outstanding performance in terms of scoring and rebounding while the Pacers looked very frustrated and hopeless toward the final minutes of the game. Paul George was even fouled out seven minutes before the final quarter ended.

The defending champs Miami Heat will meet the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals which begins Thursday. Miami returns to the NBA Finals for the third straight year since 2011.
