New Orleans shooting latest update, video

The New Orleans shooting incident at a Mother’s Day parade has left at least a dozen people wounded or injured, reports on May 12 said.

According to The Associated Press via Yahoo! News, a gunfire occured at around 2 p.m. Sunday during a parade attended by an estimated 200 participants and spectators.

Authorities reportedly say the shooting took place at the intersection of Frenchmen and Villere streets.

Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas has told mediamen that a 10-year-old kid was among the victims who were rushed to nearby hospitals. Some of them were reportedly brought to the operating rooms in critical condition.

There has been no arrest and the reason for the shooting is yet to be determined. Police are looking for three persons of interest, reports said.





A cellphone video has captured the aftermath, reports CNN.



The incident happened after a shooting in New Orleans just three months ago. Four people sustained injuries when a gunman fired at a Mardi Gras along Bourbon Street where festivities for the city’s annual carnival celebrations took place.
