A May 18 report on NBC Sports says Danilovic suffered injuries in the head, arms and abdomen after he engaged in a brawl in a club at a Belgrade restaurant in Serbia.

In a press conference, authorities said an investigation is being undertaken to determine the root cause of the fight.

The 43-year-old former NBA star was Euroleague’s most valuable player in 1992. Considered one of the best European shooting guards, Danilovic won four European titles with the Yugoslavia national team.

He played for the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks during his NBA stint from 1995 to 1997, averaging 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
