Texas fertilizer plant explosion update, video

An explosion at a Texas fertilizer plant Wednesday night that may have left hundreds of people injured was reported by several news organizations.

According to CNN, the blast reportedly happened at around 7:50 p.m. (8:50 p.m. ET) on April 17. A photo of the explosion showed large smoke rising into the air after the explosion.

The report said the blast happened at the West Fertilizer Plant located about 20 miles north of Waco, near a nursing home, an appartment, and a school building.

D.L. Wilson, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, has told Reuters that dozens of people are believed to be trapped inside the nursing home that partially collapsed.

The Texas fertilizer plant explosion took place just two days after the deadly Boston Marathon bombing that killed 3 people and injured more than a hundred others.
