Star Wars actor dies: Richard LeParmentier dead at 66

Star Wars actor dies at age 66. Richard LeParmentier, who played Admiral Motti in the 1977 film “Star Wars: A New Hope,” passed away in his home in Austin, Texas.

Citing a TMZ story, Mail Online reports that circumstances surrounding the actor’s demise are unclear at present.

LeParmentier appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, the report says, but his role as the arrogant commander of Darth Vader’s moon-sized battle station and super weapon called Death Star is the most remembered.

As the following video shows, Admiral Motti and Vader thirty five years ago had a confrontation over the latter character’s “sorcerer’s ways” and “sad devotion to ancient Jedi religion.”

The Star Wars actor, who dies of still publicly unknown cause, was married to British actress Sarah Douglas who played Ursa, a supervillain in Superman II where LeParmentier also appeared as a reporter.
