Philippine flag spotted at Boston Marathon bombing site: Are there Filipino victims in explosions?

A flag of the Philippines was spotted near the Boston Marathon finish line and it’s possible that Filipino runners participated in Monday’s event which brings us to the question: Are there Filipino victims in the explosions?

According to online sources, the Boston Marathon is one of the premier running events in the world participated by at least 96 countries.

A Philippine flag was among those seen flying very near the site of the blast.

Fortunately, there were no reports of Filipino casualties. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has confirmed the news through various local media outlets.

Facebook user ChiouLitz LaterPart commented that ten Filipino runners, namely: Arnie Aguila, Amanda and Leica Carpo, Noel Colina, Richelle Embree, Arland Macasieb, Ricardo Mansueto, Rolando Ocampo, Jose Martin Paiso, and Angielyn San Juan, represented the country in the event. All are well and safe, reports said.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has reported that Boston police said that at least 3 people were killed and dozens have been injured in the deadly Boston Marathon bombing.
