Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, also popularly known as KathNiel, are definitely doing a new television series again this year.
News about the new teleserye featuring the “Princess and I” stars surfaced online this week after the Kapamilya Gold Facebook fan page shared a snapshot of a document showing the proposed program concept and casting as well as taping and airing schedules.
Based on the proposal, Kathryn and Daniel will be joined by Ian Veneracion, Carmina Villaroel, Manilyn Reynes, and Benjie Paras. The cast also includes Star Magic Circle batch 2013 members Liza Soberano, Ingrid dela Paz, Alex Diaz, Julian Estrada, and Jon Lucas.
Reports said KathNiel’s new teleserye will air tentatively within the third quarter of 2013. Excited fans, however, are confused on what the title of the series will be.
Entertainment website, blogs and other online fora posted that its working title is “A Shooting Star,” but there was an ABS-CBN News report that hinted about a remake of “Pangako sa ‘Yo,” a primetime hit in the early 2000’s.
Kathryn and Daniel appeared in the current ABS-CBN Summer Station ID to pay tribute to the soap opera starred in by former loveteam partners Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales.
During the press conference for his first major solo concert, Daniel reportedly said it would be a big honor for him to be cast in the remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”
“Bakit naman ako hihindi?” he reportedly said. “Malaking ayos sa akin ‘yon kung sa akin ibibigay.”
