Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 out April 13 in Philippines, price is P24K

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will sell in the Philippines at a suggested retail price of P23,990 come April 13, 2013. Reports said the new tablet is expected to compete with Apple’s iPad Mini.

The latest Samsung device is powered by an Exynos 4 1.6GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Its 16GB or 32GB internal memory is expandable up to 64GB with a micro SD.

It has Android 4.1 “Jellybean” operating system and sports an 8-inch TFT WXGA display at 800×1280 pixel, a 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-MP front camera. It measures 210.8 × 135.9 × 7.9mm and weighs 338 grams.

Other Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 specs include 1080p @ 30fps video recording, WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, and a Li-Ion 4,600mAh battery.

The 16GB WiFi+3G model, Samsung revealed during a recent presscon, will be available in local stores for P23,990 SRP.

Coco Domingo, Product Marketing Head for Samsung Mobile Phones, says the Samsung S Pen that comes with the Galaxy Note 8.0 has evolved. It now offers Handwriting-to-Text conversion and advanced Productivity Tools, which support formula and shape recognition, with enhanced precision.

It’s packed with pre-loaded content and apps. What’s also interesting is that it has Smart Remote, a universal remote control and electronic programming guide that allows users to manage TV and video watching seamlessly.
