Roel Manlangit joins PGT: Bukidnon Boy sings "I Will Always Love You" and "Ikaw," receives standing ovation from judges, audience

Roel Manlangit has joined PGT. The street kid from Valencia City, who’s been called by social media as “Bukidnon Boy” after his video went viral online in September 2012, conquered ABS-CBN’s talent search show.

He belted out Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” during the Mindanao leg of “Pilipinas Got Talent” auditions which was aired Sunday, March 23, on the Kapamilya network.

And as if his signature rendition wasn’t enough, PGT judges Kris Aquino and Ai-ai delas Alas asked him to sing another song.

Roel did an acapella of the OPM hit “Ikaw” and eventually received a standing ovation from the judges as well as the audience. He garnered all three yeses to qualify for the next round.

The 13-year-old singer is a victim of Typhoon Pablo which caused a flashflood that destroyed his house, television set and videoke player. Now living in a makeshift home built by his neigbors, Roel said in a taped interview that he wants to give his family a house of their own.

With such amazing talent, Kris said Roel deserves the P2 million grand prize.
