Produced by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the story revolves around three dysfunctional women in their 30s, Louise, supposed to be played by Mandy, is one of them. When changes to the character were introduced during production, Mandy was reportedly unhappy and eventually decided to step aside.

“Many things change quickly as a pilot moves into production,” Moore said, according to TV Guide. “And in this case, Lee and Gene moved the character in a different direction, it was clear this wasn’t right for me. Rather than jeopardize the show, I asked to step aside.”

Particulars of the “changes” made for the adaptation of the 2006 hit show were not divulged in detail though.

Despite Mandy’s decision, Pulling producers had positive words for her, describing the star as “very patient and accommodating” and hoping to work with her again.

The singer-actress has this to say:

“They and ABC were very accommodating, and wish them all the best in the fall. It’s a terrific show that worked so well in the UK, I hope it gets the audience it deserves here.”
