Man kills TV host, self

Man kills TV host before he took his own life is an apparent case of a love triangle. On March 8, the Washington Post reported that a Montana man shot to death a Sportsman Channel host while the latter was visiting his wife.

Citing a statement from Whitefish Police Chief Bill Dial, the report said 41-year-old Wayne Bengston killed Gregory Rodriguez, a television personality from “A Rifleman’s Journal,” beaten his wife brutally, took his 2-year-old son away and brought him to a relative, and went back to his home where he allegedly committed suicide.

The 43-year-old victim, who comes from Texas, was reportedly on a business trip when the tragic incident happened.

Bengston’s wife told investigators that Rodriguez was visiting her at her mother’s residence when her husband showed up late Thursday night.

According to Dial, the shooter’s wife and the TV host reportedly met in a trade show and became friends. Police believe that their relationship was only casual and not romantic. Jealousy may have caused the crime.
