Triple Win Formula: Germany to open jobs for Filipino nurses

Germany’s labor market is set to open job employment opportunities for Filipino nurses.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, German Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Ursula von der Leyen will be visiting the country to witness the signing of an agreement between the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Federal Employment Agency, International Placement Services or ZAV, to formalize the arrangement for the deployment of nurses in Germany.

To ensure success of the effort, the DFA said ZAV will apply a “triple win formula” which means Filipino nurses will get for free adequate linguistic and professional preparation prior to entry to the western-central European country.

In this undertaking, ZAV’s partner agencies including the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fϋr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) and CIM (Centrum fϋr Internationale Migration und Entwicklung) will be “responsible for the successful integration of the nurses into the German labor market and in their social environment,” the DFA posted on its official website.

The deployment of Filipino nurses, the DFA said, is expected to address the current shortages in German hospitals.

Philippines and Germany celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations this year, the DFA added.
