The body of the missing pilot has been found. Reports said the man who fell about 2,500 feet after he was ejected from the plane’s cockpit was finally located Saturday in Bradley County.

Local reports said the man, whose name was withheld pending knowledge of the family about his death, was an “experienced” pilot who was trained by a co-pilot to fly Friday a second-hand single engine plane he just bought.

What’s eerie is that the victim reportedly purchased the Zodiac 601 aircraft recently from the family of Clarence Andrews, an 82-year-old pilot who died in a plane crash in December last year.

A National Transportation Safety Board investigation to verify reports that “the casualty was not wearing his seat belt” and that “the aircraft has gone into a nosedive” before the accident occured is underway.

Bradley County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Gault told reporters that search teams in Tennessee found the pilot’s body in a tree line, not too far off the road.
