Florida Plane Crash Kills 3

A small private plane crashed into a home in eastern Florida on Friday killing the pilot as well as two passengers and setting the house on fire.

The single-engine plane, a Beechcraft Bonanza, was headed for Downtown Island Airport in Knoxville when the incident happened.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot reported a mechanical problem and diverted the flight for an emergency landing at Flagler County Airport when it crashed.

Authorities have yet to release the victims’ names and addresses. An investigation to determine what caused the crash is reportedly ongoing.

The plane apparently landed at the backyard after hitting the house, but initial reports said no one on the ground was hurt or injured.
