PRC successfully holds board exams in Riyadh

Overseas Filipino workers took their respective board exams at the International Philippine School in Riyadh from October 25 to 27, 2012.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, four hundred fifty-eight (458) OFWs took their respective licensure exams, surpassing the number of examinees in previous years.

The examinees were aspiring to be licensed architects, accountants, nurses, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, electronics and communications engineers, electrical engineers, master electricians, and electronics technicians. Topping the list of examinees were 174 nurses followed by 102 architects.

This is the second year that the board exams were conducted under the direct auspices of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh. Labor Attaché Albert Valenciano, head of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Riyadh, was tasked to coordinate the preparations for the exams, the DFA said.

The officers of the Professional Philippine Organizations in the Central Region (PPO-CRSA), led by Engr. Rolando Nicolas, assisted the PRC and Embassy teams in ensuring the successful outcome of the board exams.

Prior to the three-day exams, the PRC team supervised the registration of the applicants at the Mabini Hall of the Philippine Embassy, the foreign affairs department added.
