A passenger jeepney slammed into the Mercury drugstore Taft Avenue branch in Manila on Tuesday evening, September 11, 2012.
According to ABS-CBN News, its driver Bersom Quinto said his jeepney, with plate number PWE-565, lost its brakes as he was trying to avoid a passenger bus at the northbound lane of Taft.
Quinto reportedly said he crashed into Mercury Drug to avoid hitting other motorists and pedestrians.
There are no casualties in the incident, but police said a deeper investigation will be conducted due to suspicion that the driver was speeding before the crash.
Quinto may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting to damage to property and driving without license, the report said.
