Philippine teams join 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship

More than two thousand of the world’s top street dancers gather in Las Vegas for the 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship from August 1 to 5.

Megacrew and Varsity crews from 40 countries including USA, Canada, Mexico, Finland, UK, Singapore, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Spain, France, India, Germany, and Philippines compete for the world title.

Philippines is being represented in the 2012 World Hip Hop Dance Championship by The Crew, UP Streetdance Club, La Salle Dance Company, Legit Status, Fresh Flow and the Philippine Allstars among other teams.

Twitter posts about the event reveal that the preliminary round is ongoing.

The 5-day event also includes panel discussions, a Chill Lounge for dancing after the evening competitions, and the presentation of the Living Legend of Hip Hop Award and the Urban Moves dance workshops.

Over $25,000 in cash and prizes will be divided among the winners of the World Championships and World battles to be held on Saturday, August 4.
