Miss World 2012 winners announced; Miss China wins crown

Miss China was crowned Miss World 2012 during the coronation night held at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium, Ordos, China on August 18, 2012.

Miss Wales and Miss Australia were declared first and second runners-up, respectively.

Complete list of 2012 Miss World winners:

• Miss World - Miss China Wen Xia Yu
• 1st Runner-Up - Miss Wales Sophie Moulds
• 2nd Runner-Up - Miss Australia Jessica Kahawaty

Miss Brazil (Mariana Notarangelo), Miss India (Vanya Mishra), Miss Jamaica (Deanna Robin), and Miss South Sudan (Atong Demach) completed the Top 7 finalists.

Among the Top 15 finalists is Miss Philippines Queneerich Rehman.

Awards:

• Beach Fashion - Miss Wales Sophie Moulds
• Talent - Miss China Wen Xia Yu
• Sports & Fitness - Miss Sweden Sanna Jinnedal
• Top Model - Miss South Sudan Atong Demach

The awards for Beauty With A Purpose and Multimedia were both given to Miss India Vanya Mishra.

Organizers said 2012 is a “record breaking year” as 116 contestants joined the pageant to represent their respective countries.
