Malacañang suspends classes in NCR, some parts of Luzon on August 9

Malacañang issued Wednesday night Memorandum Circular No. 34 suspending all classes, in all levels, in the NCR and some parts of Luzon on Thursday, August 9, 2012.

Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa, Jr. signed MC No. 34 for the suspension of classes from preschool to college, including post-graduate courses, in the following areas:
  • National Capital Region
  • Bataan
  • Bulacan
  • Cavite
  • Laguna
  • Pampanga
  • Pangasinan
  • Rizal
  • Tarlac
  • Zambales
Lacierda said work in government and private offices is not suspended.

MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 34

Upon the recommendation of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and in view of the continuing inclement weather brought about by southwest monsoon (habagat), classes in all levels in the National Capital Region, provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal will be suspended tomorrow, 09 August 2012.

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
