Rashard Lewis joining Miami Heat

Former all-star Rashard Lewis is reportedly joining the Miami Heat, four days after Ray Allen, his ex-teammate in Seattle, accepted an offer from the reigning NBA champions.

According to reports, the free-agent forward is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Heat on Wednesday, July 11, in Miami.

Lewis slowed down due to left knee problems and averaged 7.8 points only in 28 games for Washington in the past season.

However in the 2012-2013 season, he is anticipated to augment fire power and provide a shooting option for a formidable and star-studded team composed of Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and Ray Allen among other players.
