Suspension of Classes July 20, 2012 (Updated List)

The Department of Education announced that classes in some parts of Manila and nearby provinces have been suspended due to heavy rains that cause flooding.

Per a DepEd Advisory posted in the government’s website, here is the summary of class suspensions for July 20, 2012, updated as of 11:30 AM.



Pasay, Pateros, Manila, and Parañaque:
All classes in Preschool, Elementary and High School (public and private)

Marikina and Malabon:
Afternoon classes in Preschool, Elementary, and High School (public and private)

Region 4A

Angono, Antipolo City, Cainta, Binangonan, Morong and Teresa in Rizal; Rosario, Kawit, Bacoor, Imus, Tanza, Cavite City, and Noveleta in Cavite:
All classes in Preschool, Elementary, and High School (public and private)

Suspensions of classes were made by the respective local government units (LGUs), in coordination with local DepEd officials, in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, state weather bureau PAGASA on Friday said that as of 8 a.m., the Active Low Pressure Area (ALPA) was spotted 330 kilometers East of Tuguegarao, Aurora.

This weather disturbance and the southwest monsoon will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to widespread rains and thunderstorms in Luzon and Visayas which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, weather experts reported.
