Shalani Soledad Wedding Proves That Age Doesn’t Matter

Shalani Soledad, 31-years-old, got married to Roman Romulo, 44, on January 22, 2012. The wedding is proof that when it comes to love, age doesn’t really matter.

Soledad and Romulo sealed their relationship through marital rites held at the St. Benedict Church in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, at sunset.

Romulo, who wrote his own wedding vow, told Soledad at the altar:
It took me 44 years to find you. I have found you, Shalani. I have found happiness. I will love you forever.
The bride replied:
I knew when I met you that you were the one for me. And I promise to love you from now on until forever.
Councilor Soledad in an earlier interview said she finds “home and happiness” in Congressman Romulo.

Media dub the simple yet elegant ceremony as the ‘wedding of the year’. The Romulo family calls the couple a ‘match made in heaven’.

In mid-September 2011, Roman’s sister Mons said the family considers Shalani as “an answered prayer.”

What the family wished for her brother is “someone who will love and support him and his public service,” she said.
